CHS Foundation Announces Anniversary Scholarships for HS Juniors

The CHS Foundation announced that it will award 25 college scholarships in celebration of the 75th anniversary of CHS Inc. The $1,000 scholarships, available to high school juniors who will be graduating in the spring of 2007, will be awarded based on academic achievement, activities and two essays — one about ideas for keeping rural communities strong and one about the importance of cooperatives to agriculture.

“These 75th Celebration Scholarships will provide greater opportunities for our thoughtful leaders of tomorrow, while honoring the past and future contributions of one of America’s most successful cooperatives,” said Michael Toelle, chairman of the CHS Foundation Board of Trustees. “We’re planting the seeds for an even brighter future.”

Scholarship applications are available at www.chsinc.com or by calling 1-800-232-3639 ext. 4584. Applications must be postmarked by June 30, 2006, to be considered. Dependents of CHS and Agriliance employees are not eligible.

The CHS Foundation is an independent private foundation. In addition to the newly announced 75th Celebration Scholarships, the CHS Foundation also annual offers postsecondary scholarships through the Agricultural Studies Scholarship Program, Cooperative Studies Scholarship Program and Land Grant Scholarship Program.
